Wishlist.

The lovely wishlist meme, as devised by tartanshell in this post. And there's now a community too: holiday_wishes

The rules.

Step One

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

My wishes.

1) Paid LJ time. I've been confused and confuddled about the date format a couple of times, where I thought it was running out months ago, when is wasn't (duh!). But this time it's really nearly at an end. And the have your own comments mailed back to you thing is *so cool*.

2) Dare I put More Icon Space on here? Last time someone gifted me with it out of the blue, I never filled in all the slots. I'm not so good with the 'pick stuff, upload, come up with keyword' organisational tasks. In wanting to do it right I never do it at all. But I'm filled with good intentions this time around and I really want to add this icon:

Okay, right now very few of you will get this joke. But soon! :)

3) Beads. All materials, all quantities welcome. Left-over quantities in boxes, broken necklaces, old pairs of earrings, I'd love to have 'm and make new pretty things out of them. Also bits of ribbon, (stretch-)lace, scraps of silk, cotton knit, lingerie elastic, hooks & eyes & lingerie closures & stuff. Stuff to make pretty stuff out of, especially the kind that is worn next to the skin. All welcome.

4) Hair toys! Especially hair-friendly hair toys, like wooden hair sticks & other things with no sharp seams to damage hair, but pretty much anything will make me happy. I'm armed with sandpaper and nail files, I can smooth out the rough edges if need be. *g* Oh, and I'm perfectly happy with second hand 'I don't wear 'm anymore' kinda stuff.

5) Stuff off the Amazon wishlist. It's mostly stuff like The Reel *NSYNC and the Cleis press book about sex & disability and a smattering of Tanith Lee & Pratchett.

6) Don't worry, I'm not asking ya'll to buy this next item for *me*. You know how in loads of HP fic Snape brews his own fantastically wonderful lube? Well, it exists. I'm asking you to consider getting it for yourself. It would be lovely if more people knew about it and tried it. You don't have to tell me about it either, if you don't want to. The chemist with chemical sensitivities who dreamed up the stuff sounded lovely on the phone, and, well, there aren't that many lubricants I'm not allergic too (as in, just the one), so it would be lovely if her business did well, yes?

Some more info on exactly why it's lovely (hint: water-based, non-toxic, right pH (so no yeast infections), hypo-allergenic, tastes lovely (Mmmm, vanilla!). You can get it here or from one of the places listed here.

7) Same goes for Protex non-latex condoms. Try them, if you haven't yet. I like 'm a lot better than the holy trinity of latex alternatives (that would be Durex Avanti, E-zone & the female condom with more plastic rings wrapped round it than a hula hoop champion). Also a good alternative if you don't want to *develop* a latex allergy (health professionals & other's who encounter latex at work, take note). :)

You can get them here. Click the little British flag to set the language to English, if it defaults to Dutch. Or google for a vendor closer to you.

8) I've got a couple of volunteers, but if anyone else was up to reading my DWNOGA SeSa story through when it's done, that would be fab. A quick, 'it sagged in the middle and they sat down twice without ever getting up in between' read would be welcome, in depth beta would make me giddy with delight. :)

9) And as I'm trying to give *all* the guys screen time, any insights on Chris's character would be so, so welcome. Insights, anecdotes, analysis, all welcome. Anyone have media to share (or just recommend) where he gets to talk fairly uninterruptedly for a bit? That would be a great help too.

10) The big 'all I want for Christmas one', that I highly doubt any of you have lying around but that I'm going to ask for anyway because I could really use one: a handicapped vehicle. Particularly a Canta, which looks like this.

Off to see which wishes I can help out with. :)
