022. Worrying and food

Jul 09, 2010 19:22

My moods have been going up and down quite a bit lately. I can't deny I'm not enjoying the sunshine and warm weather (I love going out wearing just a t-shirt and a skirt), and my trip to Finland is getting closer as well and I'm quite looking forward to that, especially after receiving a lovely email from my sister a couple of days ago. She always ( Read more... )

Remember when you were at uni and you always worried about your results, and every time they were higher than you thought? I'm sure it's going to be the same with aikido! Of course, you wouldn't be my Padfoot if you didn't worry, but I'm sure you're undervaluing yourself here.

Your basil plant looks absolutely gorgeous. I'm so jealous! Mine (cheap supermarket one at that) has just died a lengthy and inexorable death... Oh the yummy things you will cook with all this fresh basil! Mind if I invite myself ? :P

Mmmmmhh, yes.. I'm just thinking of last summer when I chose to be assessed for my weapons grade... I didn't expect them to call me to do anything in front of the panel but they did, and about halfway through I completely blanked out and broke down. I just hope that won't happen again.. although it *might* be a bit better this time as I'm not taking weapons this time, they've always been my weak point.

That one is actually the one I managed to grow from seeds! I have another one as well that is a lot bigger, it was a cheap supermarket one that I replanted and never thought it'd grow much, but it's HUGE now! So be my guest :P I have so much basil I have trouble using it all. I wonder if I could freeze some of it with a bit of ice...

Well, good luck hon! I know you can do it!

Wow, I'm so impressed that your supermarket basil has grown so much! Did you replant it in a bigger pot? How did you take care of it? I'd love to buy a new one and make it work better this time! Perhaps you could try to dry the extra basil you have and use it this winter? Or make loads of basil-based foods and freeze them?

I did okay on Thursday when our Sensei put me through a "mock grading" so I hope it'll go fine.. *fingers crossed*

Yeah, I did replant it. I didn't really do anything else, just replanted it and have been watering it pretty much every day (since it's been so warm recently and the basil seems to dry out really quickly). I think I've just been lucky as normally I manage to kill everything pretty quickly :P I'll post some more pictures soon :)
I've been thinking of trying to make my own pesto or something similar, or some other basil-based sauce.. hhhmmmmm...

That basil looks lovely!! Mine is on the balcony, not coping too well with the heat :( I guess I should take it inside again.

I have to water mine at least once a day, it's been SO warm recently that I'm surprised they're still alive..
