From what is sounds like, you should go to Pittsburgh. Obviously they think you can handle it, otherwise they never would have accepted you (and have I told you what a complete and total baller you obviously are? omg. I'm so proud that you're my roomie (FOR LIFE)). The social stuff will work itself out- also, it's closer to home, closer to ME (okay, secret motivation for most of my talking), closer to a lot of things, and you get out earlier and can go to your sister's graduation.
It's the stuff you'll be doing for your Senior IS, and it's the contacts that you want to have for the field you are going into. And fellowship looks baller on resumes anyway.

Otherwise which helps you more, doing something you're familiar with and are going to be doing next year or diversifying your experience?
Twin-cities look cooler from what I've heard (don't tell laura w.) and the pretty pictures but is that a priority? Maybe which has better places to work if you're looking to go back there since you'll have some contacts?
Which will you have/need a car in? Logistically pitt sounds easier. You'd have be a tank to drive to Minnesota (it's just a few miles down I-90) but you do know a couple of us in Chicago, depending on the date you might be able to crash for a night.
It was alphabetical, not subconscious! Well, Minnesota would pay for my airfare, so the travel thing isn't an issue. And my sister would be using the car this summer, so that's not a thing either. But you're right about the research focus. Synaptic transmission and receptor subunits are what my senior independent study is on, and doing that over the summer would probably help me out a fair amount... hmmm...
