brilliant indeed! This is great, a wonderful characterisation of Ron and an excellent post-war moment. The details, such as the Pygmy Puffs attempting escape, are wonderful and create a very vivid picture. Well done!
Thanks! I always love hearing that my Ron is written well. He is my favourite after all. I used to write with very little detail so I'm glad to hear my experimentation with details is coming along well.
“I want this. I want to be happy and I want to come home every night and know exactly when I’m going to see you, or my family, or my friends next. I don’t want the uncertainty that being an Auror brings. I don’t want to fight anymore.” I certainly can see Ron being conflicted about this subject! And I loved the way Hermione helped Ron to figure out what he really wanted for his life... Wonderful story! :)
Thanks! I love showing that he has some emotional depth and I think, by then he would have had enough of fighting. He knew he could be a great Auror but deciding for himself that it wasn't for him, was a really important step for him. I'm glad you liked it!
I loved it! I was so happy to see that you wrote something new...
Hermione and Ron are so in character (I always knew Hermione was alittle rebel on the inside). The way you let Ron express his doubts and felling about joining the aurors was brilliant.
While reading I found a little typo: "Ron watched Kingsley leave as if he was in a trace." I think you meant trance, didn't you?
Fixed! Thanks for reading and I'm flattered you were so happy to see something new from me. I'm glad you liked it! I think once Hermione and Ron got a move on she would have loosened up a little.
An enjoyable story in which the characters ring true. I like your maturing Ron, thinking things through, questioning his old priorities and focussing on the things that matter for him and Hermione. I like Hermione here, too, and a Professor Mcgonagall who chooses to believe that Hermione needs to help with a stock check....
Thanks :) Ron showed he was maturing in DH, and I just wanted to develop that a little more. Yeh, the Professor McGonagall thing was a bit of a stretch, but we really don't know what privileges would have been given to Hermione and other final year students who hadn't gone the year before so I just made up my own. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
