i'm thankful for having friends and family that support me and respect me enough to let me try things for myself. i am also thankful for having common sense and for growing up in a place that taught me to be openminded and treat each person with the respect that they deserve. :)

It is always good to have friends to rely on, although certain friends are only in it for what they can get out of you - that is something I've thoroughly learned recently.

As far as respect goes, I prefer to earn it than just have it - like anything else I get in life. Because if nobody really didn't have to do anything to gain respect, than everyone would have it -- and how valuable would it be then?

i agree, i think that respect needs to be earned, and i do a lot to earn that little respect that i do get. it's nice being appreciated :)
