coke zero is distinct from diet coke because it has one fewer calorie. it's sweetened with aspartame [aka NutraSweet], which is probably why it's too sweet for you, it's way oversweet to me, too. aspartame does horrifying things on my tongue, aftertastewise. i think it's supposed to be a more atkins-friendly diet version of coke.
There's a Swedish drink that people have at Christmastime called Mummi you might like. Families all have their own special recipes, but it's essentially a mix of cola and beer.
My father-in-law uses a rootbeer like cola drink, 7-up, regular beer and a little stout ale in his. Sounds awful - tastes wonderful.
Google "mumma" - but you'll mostly find references to the fact that every family has their own recipe.
Björn's dad's recipe calls for 4 ingredients, two of which you can really only find in Sweden, but if you substitute root beer and 7up for two of them it should be pretty similar:
1 part 7up 3 parts rootbeer (or maybe try mixing the root beer with coke if you don't like the stronger taste of rootbeer) 1 part stout ale 1 part regular beer

seriously, try coke zero. as a diet coke fan, it's too sweet for me, but not as sweet as full-fat coke.

is it just equal parts rootbeer, 7up, beer, and beer?
