I am 49 years old. When I was 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22 years old, rafting down the Chattahoochee was my absolute favorite thing to do on a lazy Saturday or Sunday. That was, as any Math Weenie has already worked out, about 30 years ago.
Every single time we rafted (or inner-tubed) down the river, drunken people (including myself) would, for no particular reason, start singing the Star Spangled Banner.
Every time I think about those wonderful outings, I wonder if people still sing the national anthem while out drinking and floating on the Chattahoochee. Did you guys sing it or hear anyone else doing it?
I wish it were true but sadly, no. This is easy enough to fix: Next time, I will belt it out for you!
I remember [now that you have me thinking] at the height of both my drunkenness and the overall laziness, I recited aloud both "Ozymandius" by PB Shelley and "Jabberwocky". Wow.
