Do any of you know what I can do to remove the burnt smell from my new pair of black jeans? I hand-washed them first (because I didn't want to use one washing machine solely to prevent one pair of jeans from staining my other clothes) and then I washed them in the machine. But they still smell burned ( Read more... )

I'm not really sure... What the hell did you do?

were you trying to light your jeans on fire, or was it just an unfortunate mishap? lol.

I did nothing, they just smell burnt. It can happen when it comes to darker denims, for some reason after you wash them, they smell that way.

All I did was hand-wash them in my normal detergent and then I washed them a couple days later in the detergent. But it isn't the detergent... I've never had this problem, but I've never really had too many pairs of black jeans so I'm not too sure of how to handle this situation.

I had something like this happen to me a few weeks back. (team mate from work somehow lite a bit of grass on fire and I stomped it out) so my jeans just had this horrid smell of smoke and burntness to them, and after a few days I was exercising and looked at the pool and thought what the hell why not.

I jumped in (after emptying the pockets, nearly made that mistake) and then tossing them in the dryer then washer then dryer again and it seems to have worked. ^^

(BTW it's me Joe, forgot my LJ info too apparently)
