The big Three-Oh was a time of varying crisis for me. Mostly of the holy-cannoli-I-am-all-grown-up-and-nowhere-near-where-I-should-be variety.

40 is looming for me (I'm 38 now) and Thaine is now 35. We are parents with a mortgage (actually two) and real bills. Sigh. Staying out all night and drinking myself into a haze are DISTANT memories

i'm going through something similar i think, about turning 25. i feel like the time is passed to do something really "crazy". what that might be i don't know, but i feel like i missed my chance to do something... have a lot of sex? go to mexico on a whim and live for a month on $40? throw it all in and move someplace huge like NYC or NOLA? i jut don't know i've decided i've missed out on, but it's something.

maybe you have changed, something nearly imperceptible. it doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing. i think it's better to grow up than be one of those overgrown 50 year olds still acting like you're 19. you know?
