Portland, Oregon was named after Portland, ME because Portland, ME is so cool. Unfortunately, they only share names.

I guess if you are looking to ditch all your friends and start a new life, you could go to Portland, OR. Otherwise, all thats out there is coffee and rain, and lets face it, and overwhelming amount of crappy music for the little bit of good stuff that comes out of there.
