I tried googling for the story, and found out they had to take the rest down by wrecking ball, but I couldn't find anything about what they think went wrong.

Well, my guess is the structural integrity of the top part of the building absorbed the shock of hitting the ground. Yay engineers. :D

Since they couldn't get in to blow the 'new' supports, they had to wreck it. (Again, my guess)

Still, win for the engineers. :D

I meant, what happened with the explosives failure.... Did something not detonate properly? Did they miscalculate the placements and amounts? Inquiring mind wants to know. :D
