Would a line of buns down the center of her head work?

I don't know. She wanted her hair to be down and just have the falls mixed in, so that it looks mane-like. Maybe small buns that don't pull up all her hair?

My idea was to stitch groups of three dreads to small butterfly clips and just clip them into her hair. Honestly, I'm not sure what her vision is and will have to just follow her lead.

I think the yarn shop in Apex sells smaller bats of roving, if she doesn't want to buy the big braids! Otherwise, Yarn Tree Studios has a good rainbow selection.
