What? Is it time for an update?

I'm not so sure that the requisite amount of time has passed, but I think it's time for an update! (Updating the rarely used blog is an excellent means of avoidance ( Read more... )

mmmm if you could blog about the food and wine I'd be most happy:) Have a safe flight bella and enjoy Italia, Athens and the City of Lights. This time when you get home we really will have to get together.

I thought about blogging about the food and wine, but there's not much to say. I have eaten precisely one meal outside of my apartment since arrive-- a kebab from the new kebab shop across the street on my first night (there are kebab shops, and a good number of turks, everywhere). And the only wine has been prosecco (which last night gave me a terrible headache). Hmm.. my food staples are... tramezzini al tonno (italian style), clementines, some pasta (mostly with zucchini or eggplant and some pancetta and pecorino), and my favorite: the antipasto plate with prosciutto, mostarda veneta (my favorite), some different cheese, crackers, and little boar sausages thinly sliced. Other than that, I drink ace! and Coca-light, or tea (surprisingly I haven't had a single caffe since arriving). O! I also found these little snack cakes (you know how I like little debbies), well these are from Ferrero and they're chocolate and orange. The only -problem- with them is that the orange flavoring comes from orange liqueur. And yes, that means ( ... )

Have fun! Even if it is technically "work", I'm sure it'll be nice to see Italy in autumn. You must, must, must, and I really do mean must give me all the Parisian details. My French is horribly rusty, and so I would be of almost no use at all in the capital, but I'll be jealous just the same. I'm sure we all demand pictures. Drink a bottle of Merlot in mine honor. I'll buy some decent Californian and do the same for you. :-)

well, it is certainly cold in Italy in the autumn :) I will give you Paris details, but we'll only be there for 3 days, so I'm not sure how much there will be to share, and I'll have Ned bring his camera! Mine is at home, since I don't have much time for sight-seeing here in Italy.

-smile- I hope things are going well! Are you finally moved?

I noticed. :-) You can keep the cheese (especially the goat cheese, bleh!).

I've also noticed that Spanish speakers and Italian speakers can sort of get along decently, but French doesn't seem to mesh so much. 'Tis sad. But that's o.k. Most people I've spoken with say the Parisians are pretty nice. Besides, sometimes it's best not to understand people, especially when wine is involved.

I've heard that Greek Wine + Married Lady can often times = trouble, but I'll just assume everything went smashingly. :-)

You still have that sushi fixation, eh? Nice to know that some things will never change.
-hugs-
Welcome, home.

now that i'm home (my flight landed only a few hours ago), I can say that I drank LOADS of wine in Paris. Yesterday was the arrival of the new year of Beaujolais! It was something of a holiday, with many of the bistros having little parties complete with hay on the floor and live roosters (I kid you not ( ... )
