Ah, I'm a sucker for Castlevania

Did anyone else get the ending of Order of Ecclesia? Am I left alone?

Ah, Albus. Why did you have to die? I thought, usually, since most Castlevanias have a seemingly happy endings ("Yay, Dracula's gone!" "Yay, look I had a baby!" "I saved my girlfriend, hardcore!"), with the exception of Lament of Innocence. Ecclesia made me cry. Seriously. Halfway into the game, after Albus sacrifices himself and gets killed at Shanoa's hand, I really didn't think that it could get much worse. I thought, maybe, maybe something would go on and Dominus would somehow spit him back out and he would hold hands with Shanoa and they would skip off together. Maybe I'm a little bit of a sucker for happy endings.

I also loved it to death because it didn't give me what I wanted. Albus gives his soul so Shanoa can live, and she leaves the Castle, bows her head, and walks off. I did get tingles when she said "I am the morning sun, here to banish the night" (or something close). Then I cried when Albus told her to smile before he damned his soul, and there's that image of her smile with all the tears running down her cheeks. Also, Dracula flirting was the best thing ever.

All and all I am very, very impressed and happy with the game. It was terribly difficult, but nothing I can't go back and make it my bitch. I've been working on getting all the enemy medals, or, rather, defeating all the major bosses without getting hit once. I think it may be my new favorite edition.

I also heard that Shanoa is apparently going to appear in Judgment? Who thought this was a good idea? I, apparently, had no say in this. She looks terrible. She's a nun now. A nun with short hair? What? Castlevania, why do you keep doing this to yourself? Where did my super hot Shanoa go? Death Note and Castlevania do not mix.
