A raise is a raise. A 13% + raise is quite significant. In my former life, we used to call it the 13th month pay, as a bonus. Congratulations!

I get a 13th month salary too (13th installment of the regular monthly salary). And a discretionary performance bonus in March (which so far has been pretty good). I tell ya, I've got so much money now, I don't know what to do with it! I'm spending $100 on shoes!

Bring me a 13% raise.

How did you like "Star Trek?" I thought it was a nice continuation on the twisted timeline established in part 1.

I enjoyed it, I admired it, and I thought it was well made, but I didn't love it as much as I did the first (new) one. (Previous review here.) I'm not enough of a Star Trek geek to catch all the subtleties and callbacks and tributes, so mostly I was just watching it as a "movie." (I knew the villain was going to be Khan, but I didn't know Khan's back-story even though I had seen Star Trek II (and thought it was boring).)

While the first one surprised me and excited me, in this one I already knew all the characters and I thought maybe they tried a little too hard to make sure everyone in the ensemble (which has got to be around 10 people) had at least one "memorable" scene -- dramatic, heroic, funny, etc. Still, the story overall was pretty good. The opening scene with the red trees was eye-catching, and I liked the future London and future San Francisco.
