Katrina and Curtis's wedding - June 13 2015 hanjudy June 13 2015, 20:27:48 UTC
Jason made it home really early this Saturday. We picked him up at Ford International and got home by 1AM. This afternoon, we went to the wedding ceremony at 1PM which lasted for an hour. Now we are home to watch the Tigers game with Verlander pitching for the first time this season. We will go back to Portland for the wedding reception at 5:30PM. All in a good day with family and friends!

Storm damage in downtown Portland hanjudy June 24 2015, 13:17:56 UTC
The confirmed (after the fact) tornado touch-down in Portland reminded us of the time a straight wind incident took place which took down a few big branches at our place. It happened just prior to Kevin and Tammy's wedding. We were so blessed that so far, our location escaped any major damage ever since we moved here. The clean-up efforts and plans for reconstruction are ongoing for Portland.
Lest we forget, Mother Nature is much stronger than any human endeavors.

I forgot about that, but under the Vietnamese Labor Code, I actually DO get a day off for my country's "national day." Usually the boss lets me use that whenever I want. (Especially since the Fourth of July was on a Saturday this year.)

I did get a new AmCham hat and polo shirt. You may have seen them in Facebook photos. This year, the shirt is nicer than the hat. But they might both be in your Christmas stocking.

Ionia Free Fair 2015 Opening Day! hanjudy July 16 2015, 17:41:17 UTC
Yes, today is the day to celebrate 100 years of the Ionia Free Fair. And yet, Mom left for CMU in Mt Pleasant for her Mission U until Saturday. And yet, I have another half of our lawn to mow with the push mower!
They will release 100 colored balloons to celebrate the occasion.

Glad we were able to make this mini-reunion a reality. The Corner Laughers won the initiative. Have a safe trip back to Saigon.
