Even if Harper's numbers are off, Wal-Mart is still using its might to force its vendors to sell their products at an unprofitable price, which is my main concern. This eliminates more of the competition and ultimately puts the consumer at the whim of Wal-Mart and a few preferred vendors ( ... )

Can I ask who the other 4 companies out of the top 5 are?? Just curious, did they mention them in the article?

While not mentioned in this article, some of the big box retailers are costco, target, the home depot, and there was one more, but I forget. The thing about Wal-Mart that I don't like (and that the other companies aren't so bad about) is that profit comes before everything. They're a lousy employer, they're a lousy customer, and ultimately, they're really bad (in my opinion) for our economy.
