Yes, it's personal for me as well. I wasn't aware of it being any sort of recognized symbol when I first made it, but it seemed so simple, I wondered if I'd see it elsewhere someday. For me, it's a combination of spirals and the lemniscate (infinity symbol) and among other things, it has to do with...hmm...how many things that appear to be opposites or so different as to be unrelated can also be seen as two parts of a whole.

No idea what it meant, so I started looking it up and asking opinions. Those related to the stones at Newgrange, as well as stone carvings found all across Britain. One idea was of the gateway between worlds, this and Death, and the opposites of the two pulling and repelling one another.
Another was that of soul-mates and the connectedness between people, but there were all sorts of impressions and ideas.
It's a strong symbol, though. One of the very few things that pull me into trance faster than a dark-mirror. If you practice any sort of alternate states, did you ever use this as a doorway?

I have more to say to this though. I'll try to friend you and put a longer response where you can see it in the next few days :}

I'm a baby Omni from Cyber that goes to school with Jeremy (Tetra). =D He's told me a lot about you, but it all basically comes down to "Rene is made of awesome!". I don't expect access to your journal, but I'd love to chat with you sometime. ^^ I can be reached at kiynethe@hotmail.com on MSN, or cw.jade@gmail.com.
Thanks, and hope to hear from you soon! =D
