regarding wikipedia

Once information makes it past the checks and balances of Wikipedia's approval process, regardless of it's accuracy it becomes a fact. Sort of like the way a totalitarian government establishes reality for its citizens. I really like and agree with this with only one caveat.

Is wikipedia potentially a facism of the active contributors?

Wikipedia is a reputation based system, peer built and validated, so theoretically, the closest thing to a meritocracy as possible, but it is not completely open. There are some opinions that are louder than others.
