joining weddingplans? they're less bitchy than the boards on theknot.com, so i hear. you can find lots of inspiration and help in there though - but obey the rules - lj is srs bzns to the mods.
try not to consider bands just because you like them as a band - they should also have plenty of wedding experience. think of mine - those guys ran the show like pros. they were awesome (and i bet they travel!)
The Knot boards are ridiculous. The people on Planning & Etiquette are so bitchy. However, I started lurking/posting on their local Boston board and everyone seems so nice.
I'm going to look at a band that specializes in weddings. Send me the info for your band. They were amazing! I always tell people about how good they were.
I don't even know where to begin with the whole dress thing. I know nothing about it. Actually, my mom suggested I talk to you about it because your dress was so beautiful!
i think David's Bridal is a good place to start to get an idea of what you think you might want in a dress - they're low pressure, have a lot of options, and let you take pictures.
then, depending on your budget, move on to the more expensive places with the knowledge of what you are looking for. like the place i went, Yolanda's in Waltham - they dont have all their dresses out for you peruse, either they pick what they think would look good, or they pick from what you tell them you want.
visit a bunch of shops until you find the one that makes you go - yesssss!
I think I will go to David's Bridal to pick up a catalog soon. From what I see online so far I really like Mori Lee dresses and some Alfred Angelo. I think I want to wear a white and red A line with a sweetheart neck. I feel like that cut always looks best on me.
