Another Hammond moment

I come out of the Office Depot, having spent a good half-hour in there. It's two p.m. and we're already at 96. No telling how hot it was in the parking lot. When I get to my car to deposit what I'd bought (some book shelf brackets), I see that some idiot in a jalopy has parked in the space in front of my car, with said jalopy literally jammed ( Read more... )

When I meet an attractive female, I quickly learn how it feels to work with a sub 75 IQ. I can feel all the education since 3rd grade evaporate out of my skull . . . then I start to talk.

75 IQ? Must have gone up since I lived there.

A friend in grad school with me at SLU once said, "It's not that people in Louisiana are more stupid than anywhere else, it's just that here it's held up as an ideal to aspire to."

I have to agree. I think Tim Gautreaux's short stories REALLY show this to be the case.
