I'm writing a final paper for my graduate class on young adult literature, incorporating a blend of theory, practice, surveys, interviews, and more into the paper. Have you ever felt inadequate due to images of beauty you've observed in magazines or televison?

To continue on what I was saying - I think a prime example of this is America's Next Top Model. On that show women who are my size are placed in the 'plus sized' category and never (not that I've seen anyhow) made it to the final round or even go on to win the competition. Value in the media is placed on super tall, super skinny people and that isn't the norm. I think that diverse beautiy needs to be embraced, honestly. It's a shame the curves, that were once something to be proud of, are now something that we work to hide or get rid of.
