Working in the medical profession sucks even worse sometimes. Retail, at the end of your shift you just clock out and go, give or take 15 minutes if the person coming in for the next shift is late. Medical, well, at least at my clinic, when my "shift" is over and the schedule says its time to go home, if I have a critical patient, I can't just drop everything and go, I have to wait till the patient is stabilized and its "safe" (or at least as much as possible). Case and point: scheduled for a 6 hour shift, turns into a 9.5 hour shift. In the entire few weeks I've been working at the new place, I haven't gotten out on time ONCE.
Sorry, I meant to have something constructive in that paragraph, but it deteriorated to me bitching. Sorry :(
Here because it is a 24 hour walgreens, when it says I leave at 12am I usually leave at 1:30 because we have to clean up after stupid kids that mess up the toys and stuff, but yeah. Extra 3 and a hour hours SUCKS especially because you can't really just drop everything and leave.
