I THINK.... it's like, pay per how much stuff you do? Like how a phone plan has so many minutes you can use before you go over and get charged extra. Every time you go to a webpage, it has to download the images and etc. So I think downloading = how much you look at on the internet. Which in my case I may be screwed because I don't have a phone and the internet is my only mode of communication. i check my email all the time.
It sounds like Oz has internet plans like we do in NZ. It pays to read the fineprint of whichever plan you sign up for (if it isn't included in the rent for the halls) because lots will have a data cap (They'll let you download say 10gb) but if you go over that they start charging you CRAZY HUGE amounts of cash (like $10 a GB over here) for any additional usage.
Once you get used to it it's really not so confusing, but you might need to get used to not seeding torrents, because that'll kill your bandwidth (ie: how many Gbs you've paid for) like nobodys business.
WHAT IS BANDWIDTH UUUGHH!! So frustrating! I'm going to research it. They sent me a link that has costs and stuff and I'm going to try to figure it out.
Hey, i've never spoken to you but stumbled across your page sometime ago and come by once in awhile. Anyway i live about an hour away from USC so welcome! and if you need anything at all i'm willing to help.
