Do you think most people do this because I really have no idea what most people do/think about.i was JUST talking about this with my therapist. and about how i have no idea what a normal view of gender is because i think about all these things constantly. it seems incredible to me that there are people who can say "well, i've never really thought about gender that much before ( ... )

well, men and women are treated so differently. they're praised and criticized for COMPLETELY different things. if you want to wear comfortable clothes and hate small talk, you want to be a man. i don't think it has anything to do with sex or gender, really, but with social norms. there are two molds and whichever one you can be crammed into the easiest is what you are ( ... )

Yeah that's pretty much one of the things I was saying. I always thought it was weird that likes/dislikes/behaviours indicated 'why' someone was a particular sex. Like when asked to justify why they were male or female it's 'I like mens cloths' or 'I like having a penis' or 'I like wearing makeup.' Stuff like that. Which was just societal stuff, it's not like if you were born in the forest you'd have a natural desire for makeup and start making lipstick out of bugs and flowers and shit. And since I have ABSOLUTELY NO WAY TO TELL WHAT MY GENDER IS ASIDE FROM BEHAVIOURS AND SOCIAL NORMS I WAS RAISED WITH, I think about what has influenced me or what could have potentially influenced me ( ... )

It kind of sucks. At the same time I don't really care because it's just causing me to not interact as much with something I don't like which works out for me anyway. But it also makes me wish it wasn't that way? It's kind of confusing. I wish it didn't have to be that way, but at the same time that's the way it seems to be, and how other people act isn't in my control so all I can do is react. I can wish the trashcan in the kitchen didn't stink, but it does stink and I generally don't like it so I don't hang out by it ( ... )
