WHY

I'm really sad. I seem to have developed a food allergy to soy and can't drink soy milk anymore without my throat itching like crazy and feeling intensely dizzy and unpleasant ( Read more... )

I've heard amazing things about rice milk, you might want to try that.

I had rice milk for the first time recently, and I really liked it. Now all I have to do is figure out where I can get it around this hell hole. It was hard enough to get soy milk. Stupid hillbilly frozen shithole fucking.... uhhh.... o.o yeah.

Hmmmm. I am wishing I didn't have such bad memory!
When I lived in Kutztown, I ate mostly vegan, and there was this store in the middle of NOWHERE [seriously] that had a good variety of vegan food! It was where my ex husband and I would go to get the stuff we couldn't find in regular chain grocery stores.
Ha it has been a long while so I don't even remember what chain grocery stores are even in PA anymore. Good god.

But my ex husband thankfully has much better memory than I! I'll send him a message and ask if he remembers the name of that store and I'll send it your way. I think it's not that far away from you. Do you drive? If not, you're screwed as it's seriously in the middle of noooooooooooooowhere! But perhaps reachable with a bike?!

I'm trying to remember if the big chain grocery store in Kutztown had rice milk... or almond milk [which is AMAZING btw] and I'm not too sure. I know there was plenty of soy stuff there obviously as that's the mainstream vegan staple everywhere.

Anyway, I'll be back! Eventually...

You should come try the pizza in the campus dining hall then. It turned my butt into a fountain of unpleasantries. It can be a club trip.

boo! if it makes you feel any better soy is full of phytoestrogens and I've got a couple transguy friends who avoid it like the plague because it lowers testosterone levels.

Almond milk is the bomb. I like hazelnut milk too. If you can't find it out there then you obviously live in the wrong part of the country and need to move to the west coast forthwith.

I don't really care about eating phytoestrogens, since it's a natural plant estrogen it's probably good for me.

I've never had almond milk. I don't know if I've ever even seen it. I don't know if the grocery stores would have it or if I'd have to find someplace special to find it.
I can't find a lot of things here because I live in shitty McShitterton and all people know how to do is eat cows because everything else is for hippies or is a crime against god.

Should be in the grocery stores in most civilized parts of the world. Not sure about there, though. I like the Pacific brand organic stuff, but their web page doesn't show anywhere near you to buy it. Blue Diamond is OK, though, and if all else fails you can just order a case online!

It is not civilized here. I run naked through fields of corn and fend off hillbillies with a spear. Or a piece of a shopping cart, same thing.

SO CHANCES ARE IT IS NOWHERE NEAR ME.

I checked out that website though. I think I may have seen that stuff before. There's a store 15 minutes away that sells a lot of vegetarian and vegan groceries, so maybe I saw it there. I'm going to have to look.
I tend to prefer the organic things too. I couldn't figure out if it was organic on the website, but I'll make sure to check if I find it. Thanks for the link!

Ewwwwww. It comes from a cow boob that looks like a giant nut sack with a thousand wieners hanging off it.
