I thought a lot about 'why' it's okay to eat plants but not animals before going vegan. When asking vegan friends what they thought, they were usually angered or humored by the question.. so I had to look for answers myself. When it comes down to it, the amount of plants we consume is far, far, FAR much less than how many plants it takes to feed all the cattle or any animals people decide to eat, plus we save so much land by just growing it directly. Not only that, but most of what us vegans eat doesn't kill the plant - this excludes roots, sprouts, grasses, and such things. So I don't know, this doesn't really justify it in anyway, I'm still not sure how I feel about eating plants. I'd probably feel a lot better if I took out and planted every seed from every thing I ate. By the way, I just happened across your journal and thought I might respond. Hi.
