He had been making a conscious effort to behave in as normal and healthy a manner as possible. Any time he started worrying too much about the Nexus disappearances (why again? why Jeff, again?), he distracted himself with... things. Such as planning out a meal schedule with the optimum nutrients and calorie content... first for the following day, then for the rest of the week, and then the whole month. He also reread the first three chapters of Head Trauma and You.
And before it got too late, of course, he had a cup of tea and a mild sedative. So, by the time it got to be the middle of the night, he was asleep.
