Because of social norms I usually don't like to brag. But damn, I really wish people knew how hard Pomona is to get into when I tell them that's where I'm going next year. I usually just hear, "Ponoma? Where's that?" and I say, "Southern California" and they say "wow, that's far." and I say, "Yes, yes it is."

and i'm annoyed.

This thread is exactly why people should never go to a college just because its a "big name". I don't mean that any of yall are doing that at all, but there are so many people that refuse to apply to anything but schools that they think sound prestigious, and the reality is that MOST people have never heard of these schools.
PS. Congrats! One of my good friends is going to Pomona next year too.
