a shout out to the bastard wasp that bit me.

Well There are so many stories I can tell, like a friend of my being stuck on his roof for days in the Parish. (He and his family are now ok) About another family friend who wasn’t so lucky in Waveland, MS. But instead I will tell about my events dealing with Hurricane Katrina ( Read more... )

Sorry to hear about the loss anonymous September 9 2005, 17:34:15 UTC
We had a small portion of the house loose shingles, but nothing to write home about. Cost us all of $50 to repair ... we disappeared to Houston for 24 hours thanks to the storm, so there goes my fall vacation to the mountains this year. The child was amazingly great for her first trip out of state .. much less a trip longer than 2 hrs to Baton Rouge ( ... )

I did want to say anything about it becasue we are not sure, but my brother may lose his job. Hibernia is thinking about relocating their data center to texas.

That would SUCK and be so (IMO) UNPROFESSIONAL of Hibernia to take away jobs from people who have already lost so much. I am happy I do not have any business with them. If I did, trust me, I would back out of anything if I knew they would walk out on Louisiana like that (especially since I know someone directly affected by it).

Hibernia just ain't gonna do that (right??? )= ...... ) Tell him to HANG IN THERE!

Oh, sorry about the bastard wasp sting, but they gotta survive in these times too!

Yes but remember Captial One is the one pushing for the move to there main office in Dallas. They are buying Hibernia. And it is just the data center.

Hmmm..... and a tangent anonymous September 12 2005, 08:23:31 UTC
Going to check to ensure I don't own anything in Capital One, and you can be assured that if I do, it is going to be gone soon, regardless if it is "only the data center" ... I am on a personal boycott of anything that takes jobs / lives / tax dollars away from Louisiana permanently. Total BS.

Here's my tangent ... know of anywhere that takes donations of items for the evacuees .. .yeah .. I am about 2 weeks behind, but I have a large garbage bag full of baby clothes and baby shoes and bottles I am willing to donate to the cause, with potentially more to follow if I can get husband in the attic to get the prior year's clothes out of storage. Any help is wonderful .. would hate to have to throw it out and husband is already looming, waiting to ship it to the garbage. HELP!

Did you drop off the face of the earth or something?

How's that studly dog of yours? A lack of pictures and stories really depresses me!
