We dropped J off at sleepover summer camp 1 week ago today--his 2-week session is 1/2 done.  I went to a similar camp 9 years in a row, from age 8 to age 17, so I think I understand some of what he will gain:  friendships, shared experiences, cultural and social learning, and generally growing up.  I remember how excited I was to show off the camp

D and I are early birds, though admittedly, not usually sphincter of dawn birds. We'd be happy to drive you to the airport. We'd be back in time for a nap before breakfast.

Even better... I'll throw the yellow bike (icon) into the back of our Ridgeline and you and I will drive to Bellevue to pick up your car. When I get back to Coronation, I'll just start breakfast. *chuckle* To be truthful, I pass along some really big kudos for what you are doing. I was told once that any man can be a father, it takes someone special to be a DAD. I did the camp thing as a kid as well and I can't imagine missing the "show and tell" part of the experience. D & I really are available if it helps.

This will be the biggest party night of your first SCA event; it's probably best for me to let y'all explore and party as you wish, without having to worry about getting up at 4:00AM in the morning.
