At this year's Shepherd's Harvest, the only spinnable thing I bought was a couple of ounces of dyed silk cocoons -- because I loved the color (a lightish teal) and they were inexpensive. Could you maybe post a larger photo of the superwash merino with silk? That's just the sort of thing I'd like to get an idea about, but the photo is too small to see well.
After looking at wormspit.com, I'm really not sure what the vendor did to the cocoons I had. They didn't have any worms in them, but I didn't see holes where they emerged, either. And the photo of the wild tussah silk showed a brown residue where the moth emerged, and I didn't see anything like that, just a filmy white lining. Of course, that might be the difference between wild and domestic silkworms.
Next year I think I'll buy more of the cocoons if I can find the vendor again -- I think there are interesting things to be done with it.
