Give me your tired (of drama), your poor...
Refugees of spinningfiber, welcome. Let me give you the short version of what happened in case you're still reeling from the sudden disappearance of the community.
On Sunday, without warning, huaman was removed as mod from the spinningfiber community. kathrynt also disappeared. theredhead, owner of the community, sent a message to the remaining mods (pinkveneer, oakenking, and me) saying that Abby had been removed. Nothing was mentioned about Kathryn until we asked TRH what was going on. We also requested a post be made on the community explaining what had happened, and why. Someone on the community posted asking about the mod change, and that post was deleted. Again, the mod team demanded that TRH post about the situation. We also invited her to a private community set up just for mod discussions (to keep them off the main board) and were ignored.
This morning, another post was made on spinningfiber by another member, again asking for clarification. Many people chimed in, including the mods (who still had no answer from TRH for her actions). This evening, TRH unmodded all of us and then deleted the entire community.
We (the mod team) came here, to this established group, and have been added as mods of THIS community. We'd like for it to become a vibrant alternate home for those displaced by spinningfiber's disappearance. I'm sorry things turned out the way they did; we still have no concrete reasons for the original unmodding of Abby and Kathryn, and certainly no reasons for the deletion of the community.
I will ask that people NOT go rickrolling, trolling, or otherwise hounding TRH over this. I don't agree with her actions, but I don't sanction 'revenge'. She is a business owner, and an excellent spinner and fiberworker, no matter how any of us might feel about her personally (especially right now).
I would ALSO like to thank moonrose on behalf of the entire mod team for not only inviting us to come here, but also to provide a new home for the LJ spinning community we have grown to love at spinningfiber. We really, really appreciate this chance!
