Definitely! We're wait-listing a Waldorf preschool (they don't start until 2.5 years old) and we'll see how that goes. If we love Waldorf I'll either use the philosophy to homeschool or we'll enroll in Austin's Waldorf (which I also have a meeting to tour/wait-list...) Ive been reading a lot on Montessori as well, and I'm sure I would use TONS of their material in theory and practice if I homeschool.
I am just so fed up with public school, honestly. I can see that Owen is smart, and that is why it works for him, but any kind of learning disability becomes a "problem" and I just don't like that at all. Even Owen has been swept aside and looked over because he has difficulty focusing and he's so intelligent! I can't even imagine...
There is a lot of good things that come from public school, and I will continue to support ours any way I can, I'm just not sure it will be the best thing for Elias. We'll see!
yeah, there are things i like about public school, but i definitely want to do something different when it's our turn. i'm tired of the disciplinary aspect of public school. the way the teachers talk about children right in front of them, talk about them in the staff lounge, talk about their parents, the way that they eat like shit there, et cetera et cetera.
