I can see both sides of the argument. However, I feel strongly that in order to be worthy of equality, it has to be a matter of practice what you preach." I can't likely ask that men not objectify my daughter while objectifying their son, ya know?
i had no idea he was in sharkboy & lavagirl. lol. my kids love that movie... i hate it.
nobody really cared when miley cyrus/britneyspears/gawdknowswhoelse was all half nekkid everywhere. lol. i think there is some evenness finally coming to women. people (maybe just in america) totally adhere to rules too much anyhow. yeah... i wouldn't be too happy if he were my son, but this is the life this kid is choosing to live... so whatevs.
Remember the total freakout this summer when Miley Cyrus was on the cover of Vanity Fair (shot pretty tastefully by Annie Leibovitz) wearing just a sheet? There was total outcry.
I doubt he was all "make sure I'm naked on the cover!" and I do think it's his parents job to protect him from this kind of thing since he is a minor. It feels like movie executives exploiting children, to me!
yeah, if he were my kid i would definitely advise against this sort of thing. i feel sad for him(and so many others) that dont have parents who teach them about being objectified.
i think it would be interesting to see a teen go from this crap to being a classy, intelligent human being. ...& succeed.
the only person that kind of comes to mind is natalie portman.. but she was never really objectified like this that i know of, at least not at a young age. I know she played a questionable lolita like role(I think for luc besson) but shes just also a great actess.. and as i remember, she was always well dressed in that movie..
I felt like the outcry for the annie leibovitz photo was weak. i mean, it totally reminded me of britney spears when everyne was like omg look at what she is wearing, and then that was that & all the pervs went home and beat off to it.
