Personality: spoilers ahead!
Izanami is a God, a very haughty one at that. She clearly sees herself above humans at all times. They are merely pawns to be used in whatever scheme or whim she is entertaining at the time. It's hard to take such short-lived emotional creatures seriously, you know? When Souji stepped out of his place to find and challenge her at the end of the game she was insulted. Although, that was buried under the sheer amusement she felt from a mortal trying to fight her. Of course, she underestimated the power she awakened in him and lost.
Despite all that she doesn't hold any personal grudge against Souji or humanity. She started the whole plan in hopes of helping humanity out. She truly believed that engulfing them in fog and hiding them from the truth they did not want to see would grant them happiness. But she is stubborn. Even with the full Investigation Team asking her to change her mind she would not. Her analysis that humans wanted the fog was what she believed and it was the Truth to her. No one human would be able to understand what all humans desired like she could, is what she thought. It is possible to subdue her and convince her against her beliefs if your own conviction is strong enough though.
Izanami's view on humanity is strange. The beginning of the whole conflict was because she was interested in how humans acted and truly felt in their hearts. She would pretend to be a gas station attendant and talked to those around town and greet those new to Inaba. She wasn't the best at it though, even if she was quite believable. Her small talk sounded forced on occasion. People noticed that she was slightly strange. She really has no idea how the human mind works and it still intrigues her. Real human interaction is an alien concept to her and so her people skills are far from stellar.
In short, Izanami is an arrogant divine being that just wanted the best for humanity in the most roundabout way.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
- As she has lived for an uncountable amount of time she is quite wise. Her level of thinking is definitely on a different plane than human's. Whether this is always an advantage is hard to say though.
- Again, she's a God. She can send someone to Yomi on a mere whim and much more. Too bad she's will be living as a human in Johto and have none of her powers.
- Speaking of being human, she's going to find it very strange to adapt to. She hasn't been alive for a while after all, and even then she was a divine being. She has absolutely forgotten most norms of a living being.
- Steadfast to her ideals. This has definitely lead to Very Bad Things before. You know, like believing all of humanity would be happier if they were lost in a world of fog and things of that nature.
- Physically, probably not the strongest in her human form. She is still a woman. One described as graceful and beautiful when she was alive, not buff and fierce.
- Ignorant of most human thoughts. She tried to understand but, again, we all saw how that ended. Really, empathy is not her strongest point.
- Is good at faking her way through a short amount of small talk though. She was playing the part of that gas station attendant for who knows how long without being found out.

[The communicator buzzes into life from an accidental bump inside of this latest arrival's bag. Instead of static and quiet the carrier of said device seems to be musing aloud to herself.]
Ah. This is an interesting turn of events. I can't place where I am in the slightest. Strange indeed.
I must wonder if this is all because of that boy's meddling... [She had never been killed by a mortal before in her memory. A soft chuckle.
For a new arrival she doesn't seem too disturbed by the whole ordeal.
She must have heard a beep or something from the communicator though because thin white fingers reach into the bag and extract it.]
Were you recording all that? Now how... There we go-
[And the device is shut off.]
Third Person Sample:
The Mother ushering her out of the house was strange.
She never had a mother before. She wondered vaguely if she had been reincarnated. It would make sense in this context. A place and family she didn't know. Her body felt human. She was definitely seeing the world from the height of her human body. But if she had been reincarnated would it be the same height and appearance as her chosen avatar? She chose an adult body. Would an adult still live with her mother?
Then there was the fact she was still wearing her robes. She definitely didn't think that would be brought along with reincarnation.
And so she set to work on investigating the bag her mother had given her. It belonged to her now and she was interested. As a bonus it might even shed some light on her situation. She didn't quite like being in the dark about her situation. There were a lot of strange things in there. A miniature TV? She would look at that later. Food. Seemed something quite standard a mother would pack. A strange red and white ball. There was a button it... Well, it would be a shame not to press it.
The unnecessarily bright flash and noise was followed by the sudden existence of a very strange floating purple... ball. A misshapen floating ball that came out of a smaller ball. She noted the fog it was excreting with amusement. If anything, she could conclude this world knew something about her last foray into the human world. She didn't quite think this was a reincarnation at this point. A game. That is what it felt like.
The strange creature let out a wheezy 'Koooffing...' in a questioning tone. It did have an appearance that only a Mother could love. Izanami smiled and placed a hand on its knobby head.
