Chapter 1

~`~

Two days had passed since his concert. Tsubasa felt that he was ready to move on without that certain someone, for it was no point of shedding a bucket of tears if his other half had never cared for him, since that day he had not seen or heard anything from Takizawa Hideaki.

It is as if the bond that they once shared had been broken. The love is gone.

What does moving on means? To continue life without the love of his life, he once thought. To live a life with no sense of direction, and following wherever the wind pulled him to. In the actual fact, moving on means having to go through torturous emotions every single day, the images of the memory kept replaying causing his heart to bleed with pain.

Tsubasa told himself to hate the one important to him, one that had been a part of his love, one that had swore to be together with him forever, one that love him like no other but he just couldn’t, every time he does, he will only love more, ending hating himself for it.

How could I still love the man who had hurt me so much? He tends to ask himself this but he himself could not find the answer to his query, it was nowhere to be found.

Without his family, friends and most importantly his fans support, Tsubasa Imai would have collapsed. He didn’t because he would not want to disappoint the one close to his heart. He left his vulnerability side at home, coming to work every day with a bright smile on his face though the smile does not reach to his face. He did so out of obligation.

An idol should smile, right? So he does.

“Tsubasa-kun?” He turned to face the photographer, looked straight onto the camera and smiled.

“Tsubasa Imai - Whispers of my heart.” He whispered in his engrish as he took a good look of the good looking man on the cover, it made him remember of the past, a part of him that had now been a good reminiscing memory.

It wasn’t intentional that he was in a music store like this, looking at his ex-partner’s new single - his first single without him. He was looking through the shelves for a certain album he had been finding when he spotted it.

Tsubasa Imai is really a popular name, he thought, having made the single on the stores in America. He really is successful, isn’t he? He is better without me. He is Tsubasa, he has the wings to fly, and expand his talents globally.

He doesn’t really need me if he tries to believe so. We would never be happy if we continue on our secret love, it is forbidden. It is better this way, to find other love, opening our hearts to a special girl, and get married some day.

I don’t regret that decision for one moment, Tsubasa. You should accept it and move on. I am moving on with my life right now. I am happy.

“Hideaki-kun!” he quickly placed the item back onto the shelves, turning around to with a sheepish smile, “Have you found what you are looking for?” he heard the girl asked, trying to peek a look at the shelves behind him but stopped when he sling his arm onto her shoulders.

“I didn’t manage to find it so let’s head back home, Yuki.” He walked forward, knowing that his girlfriend would follow after him, but instead became puzzled when she did not even move a single step, so he turned, and follow the gaze her eyes are on.

“Tsubasa-kun …” she whispered, holding the single, looking intently what is on the cover, “In his eyes, they reflected pain, so much pain.”

Hideaki sighed, not this talk again. “Yuki, let’s just go home, okay? And put that thing back.”

“Takizawa Hideaki, you’re an idiot. Only god knows why you have not realized it yet.” Yuki simply said, taking the single with her and went to the paying counter.

At least I know I’m not one.

~`~

“It’s as if I want to fall in love with you, Hideaki! You … with your pretend games, forced me to be your girlfriend, in the end treated me like crap! It’s better if we’re back to being best buddies, Hide-kun! I don’t know even know why I fell for you when I know you’re just taking me for a fool!” Yuki cried, moving a distance away from Takki, again in heated argument with him for the countless time in this month.

“I’m no longer a Johnnys. I’ve quit 5 months ago. I just want you to stop talking about my past. That includes Tsubasa too.”

Yuki looked at him in disbelief, she is looking at a heartless man whose past had meant nothing to him, and it was just one pure memory, one that had once been a part of his life. Her best friend, now her boyfriend, is acting as if nothing had happened.

5 months ago was a mistake, she was surprised when Takki had knocked on her door late at night, kissing her with remorse and great passion. She should have pushed him away that night but didn’t, she give in to his desires.

That single night changed everything. It was just pure kissing, not more than that though but the anxiety was there, somehow Yuki felt a new feeling towards her best friend, a love was born upon.

Though she knew she was not loved back.

“What? Move to America? Don’t play a joke on me after all that, okay? I really need some air. Oh god, I can’t believe what just happened. Did we just kiss?” she blushed, touching her moist lips as she muttered, “I cannot believe I kissed my own best friend. That is so wrong. So-so wrong!”

Takki chuckled, hitting her on the head gently, “Yes, dumb head! We did!” Turning into a serious tone, “I won’t joke on something as serious as that, Yuki. I want a new life, a life with you. We’ll move to America, lead normal lives, work at the street shops, get married and have kids! Isn’t that fun?”

Yuki turned dead silence as she heard of the crazy plan Takki had made, they’re only best friends for god’s sake! When had their relationship changed so suddenly? Was that the reason she was kissed earlier on? Takki is crazy, he certainly had gone mad.

“Umm, that’s a great plan but you better forget it. You have a life here, remember? You have a career, you’re a successful idol. Who is crazy enough to let it all go in a split second because of one beautiful dream? Besides, you have to think about Tsubasa-kun too. You’re the Tackey of Tackey & Tsubasa. Have you got amnesia or what?” Yuki reminded her friend, pouring herself a cup of water as she looked worriedly at him from the kitchen.

“It’s too late to say that. I’ve already sent my letter of resignation to the great Johnny himself. I’ve officially quit, Yuki.” He blandly replied in a cool manner.

The glass slipped from her hands, shattering into pieces on the floor, as she rushed to where Takki stood, not bothering at all about the torn glasses, her eyes pinned for understanding in him. “You. Did. Not. Do. That. What were you thinking? What about Tsubasa-kun? Don’t you even think about him when you made this decision? You’re just crazy, Takizawa Hideaki!” she flamed in anger.

“I just want a life that I could never have! Is that too much to ask for? Why is everyone opposing to my decision? I can’t ever taste any happiness if I’m a Johnny my whole life!”

That was the only reason Takki had gave to me that night. I could not accept the rash decision that was made but on the account that he is my best friend, he will always be one, I’ve accepted his reason, and I’m a part of his life now, sometimes it just feels weird how the term ‘best friend’ suddenly turns to ‘boyfriend’ now. Things just change.

Why is Takki denying his own feelings? I understand his dream of having the life he has always wanted, a life out of the cruel entertainment business, a beautiful life he never had. But doesn’t he realize the thing he ever needed is in Japan?

Despite the sudden turn of events, the one he has always love and still in love, is Tsubasa-kun, his one true love. Takki had never told me about this secret relationship but I know, I could see the love in their eyes, the desire to have one another in their arms, so much love.

One day, I know he will come to a realization that Tsubasa-kun has always been the one for him. Tsubasa-kun could not give the many things he wanted but nothing else matters when he revived the love he had for him, the love he thought had vanished the moment he made the decision to quit.

“Love when you have the ability to, care when the other person is still alive. Try thinking from the other’s perspective too, Hideaki-kun. It’s not always about you. Do you even know that?” Yuki whispered, giving him a concerned look. And for once, she thought she had seen some regret in his eyes, for just one split second.

The love was not yet forgotten as it seems.

“Tsubasa-kun?” he brought the magazine down, looking at his two juniors in front of him, the taller one holding the other’s arm out of habit, who bowed with a sweet smile, Tsubasa raised an eyebrow at the shorter guy as he spoke, “Nishikido-kun, where are your manners? Even your boyfriend knows how to be polite when time arise. It’s been hard on you, Uchi-kun. Am I right?” he winked.

“Ah, not at all. Ryo-chan treats me well. He …” Uchi stopped when he noticed that Tsubasa raised his eyebrows even higher, thus made him chuckle a little bit, “Well sometimes Ryo-chan can be hard to handle too, pretty hard.”

“Oiiii, Uchi!! You’re not supposed to say that! It’s our secret!” Ryo retorted, clearly embarrassed.

Uchi flashed his boyfriend an innocent smile and blinked, “I didn’t mean it that way. You’re so dirty, Ryo.” Noticing the slight pink on the latter’s cheeks, he continued, “How could you think of sex in front of your sempai, Ryo-chan? You’re so horny.” Uchi teased.

His mouth wide open as he stared at his lover in shock, “Shut up! You don’t know who you’re talking to! I’m the sexy Osaka man!!” Ryo tried to defend himself but clearly he couldn’t as his cheeks shade a greater crimson red of colour.

Uchi smiled, knowing that he had won, “Yes, I know you are. You’re my one and only sexy Osaka man, right?” He gave a loving look and seeing happiness written all over his boyfriend’s face, he knew their argument had ended, as simple as that.

Someone cleared his throat as they both turned to face the poor Tsubasa who had no choice but to listen to their couple argument, “Are you two done yet? I was seriously thinking of leaving this place if you have not.”

“Gomen, Tsubasa-kun, making you hear all that.” Uchi looked shyly at his sempai, flashing a small sheepish smile, as he goes to hide behind his lover, clearly embarrassed.

Tsubasa smiled at that small action, he was proud of how his juniors’ relationship is progressing so well even if he could not have a happy relationship, at least he is glad someone close to him is happy. It really brought a great meaning to him seeing his kouhais beam with sheer happiness, he will be glad to share the feeling as well.

“Ne, Nishikido, Uchi.” Tsubasa flashed one true smile, “Stay happy. Remember to stick by each other through hardships and … always tell your other half that you love him. Then everything will be okay.” He pats Ryo’s shoulder, walking out of the dressing room, the smile still on his face.

“How can Tsubasa-kun be so strong? At times like this, having through so much pain currently, he should be the one that is to be comforted, not us. I’m touched, Ryo, so touched by what he advised us.” Uchi wiped away the tear from his face, crying in the arms of his beloved as the latter closed their gap and embraced him with no hesitation.

“Takizawa-kun is so heartless, a stupid idiot. I’ll make sure I give him a big punch if he ever dares step in Japan again regardless whether he is more senior than me. That guy needs to be taught a lesson for hurting our Tsubasa-kun. He made my Hiroki cry too.” Ryo grumbled, holding Uchi close.

“Ryo?” he gazed at his lover dearly, not breaking their embrace, as he whispered the three beautiful words, “I love you.”

Ryo froze at the powerful words. He was taken aback since they’ve never really spoken those words to each other though they’ve been a couple for years now.

He smiled as he confidently whispered back, “I love you too, Hiroki. I’ve always been.”
