11. Pet
“Mommy, look … fish fish!”
Kazuya’s steps halted and followed her baby’s gaze, causing Jin who had his hands intertwined with Kazuya, to stop too. Jin almost bumped into her. They were standing in front of a pet store, Jin noticed.
“They’re beautiful, aren’t they?” Kazuya smiled, watching how Ryu tried to touch the fishes through the glass but to no avail. “Hmm!!!” Ryu answered enthusiastically.
“But … not as beautiful as mommy, right?”
“JIN!” Kazuya hit her husband on the arm.
“That hurts, Kazuya!” Jin rubbed his poor arm in a teasing manner. Kazuya’s gentle hit doesn’t really hurt, hell it doesn’t hurt at all! “I’m just stating a fact, that my wife is beautiful … You’re truly beautiful inside and outside, honey.”
“Shut up.” Kazuya embarrassedly said, her cheeks turning red any second. Despite the blush, Kazuya glowed with pure happiness, smiling shyly.
“Hmm, mommy beauty …” Even Ryu agreed with his father. “Mommy, go inside? See see …”
The parents of Ryu blinked as they looked at one another, Ryu was sure fast to change the subject.
“Shall we go inside, Jin? For awhile …”
“Hmm …”
“Prease, daddy!” Ryu shook his father’s sleeves.
“Well, fine … but we’re not buying any pet. Understand, Ryu?”
“Kay!”
But when they’re inside …
“Daddy, what … daddy favourite pet?” Ryu asked. The random question surprised Jin who then tried to search for that one special pet, pointing it to his son.
“Kame.”
Kazuya looked down, trying her best not to blush once more. She very well knew what Jin meant by that.
“Kame?” Ryu repeated the word, “That … turtle, daddy?”
“Yeah.”
“Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute!” Ryu squealed. “Can we buy turtle?”
“Turtle not for sale, sorry.” Jin leaned his chin on Kazuya’s shoulder. A glint of mischief was seen in his eyes. “Besides, I already own it.” He murmured.
“It’s sale!” Ryu answered his father back, not getting the double meaning of Jin’s words. “Ryu want turtle!”
“Daddy said it’s not for sale …”
“Want turtle!!!!!”
Kazuya shook her head, “Ryu promised that you won’t ask for any pet here, right? We went in because you wanted to look around …”
“But mommy … turtle cute.”
That gave Jin an idea, “Why don’t we get you another type of turtle? One that’s nice to sleep with at nights? You also get to hug it, Ryu, anytime and anywhere you want!” Kazuya rolled her eyes at that, how ironic.
“Eh … hug? Ryu want! Want, daddy!!!”
Jin smirked while Kazuya simply shook her head in defeat.
In bed …
“It sure is nice to sleep with at nights …” Jin whispered, pulling Kazuya closer to him.
“I’m not a turtle, Jin.”
“You are. Your surname suggests it …”
“Well …” Kazuya made playful circles on Jin’s t-shirt with her finger while looking at him teasingly, “I’m an Akanishi now.”
“Damn, you’re right. How could I forget about that?” Jin shook his head in a joking manner. “You’ll always be my turtle, Kazu. Forever …”
“I know.” Kazuya leaned her head on Jin’s chest, her lips forming into a smile. “Do you think Ryu’s enjoying his sleep, Jin?”
“Of course! He’s hugging his own turtle, isn’t he?”
12. Daddy
Ryu clenched his little fists as he watched his cousin, Yuna, watching television happily with his father. Yuna is here in the Akanishi household for the day. Ryu had just woken up from his nap and was all groggy the minute he stepped out of his bedroom, his mood turned worse when he sees that particular scene.
“Ryu, sweety … you’re awake! Go join your daddy and Yuna nee-chan. They’re watching your favourite cartoon.” Kazuya patted her son on the head lovingly before heading back towards the kitchen to cook dinner.
A frown plastered on Ryu’s face as he heads to the living room where Jin is.
“Ryu.” Jin’s expression grew brighter as he pats the space next to him. “Come on, sit … before you miss the show …”
Ryu shook his head instead, “Sit lappy …”
Jin looked at his niece who was sitting on his lap then back at Ryu, feeling the tension in the room so suddenly. He tried to think of the right words to say before opening his mouth. After a brief moment, Jin eventually said, “Yuna, can you move to the left so Ryu can sit as well?”
“Sure, Uncle Jin!” Yuna obediently replied.
“Ryu …”
Ryu remained rooted in his position, not adamant in moving at all.
“Ryu?” Jin called his son in confusion.
“Sit daddy lappy … alone.”
“Ryu, don’t be like that. Humans should not be selfish, right? There’s space for the both of you.”
Ryu shook his head once more, “No want! Sit daddy lappy alone!!!!”
“Ryu-chan …” Yuna said.
“Ryu, what did daddy say?” Jin reprimanded his son. That seemed to be a bad move as Ryu dropped down to the floor and started … bawling, something that Jin did not expect Ryu to do.
“WAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Sit daddy lappy!!!!! Alone lone!!!!”
Kazuya rushed to the scene and carried Ryu up instantly, “What’s wrong, sweety?” She asked her son gently, knowing that this was yet another of Ryu’s antics.
“Sit daddy lappy alone, no share …”
Kazuya understood the reason for Ryu’s tantrum this time round. Ryu, being only two years old, was jealous to have someone else other than him to sit on his daddy’s laps. Kazuya shook her head and smiled at her crying son.
“Daddy won’t love you less because he has Yuna-chan sitting on his lap as well. Daddy will love you the same, he cares for the both of you. Yuna has her own daddy so Ryu don’t have to worry anything, Okay? No one’s going to snatch your daddy or mommy away from you. We love you very much.”
“Really?” Ryu sniffed.
“Right, Jin?”
“Of course.” Jin smiled, thankful for Kazuya’s comforting words. He turned to Ryu who had now stopped crying. Kazuya honestly has the talent in calming a crying Ryu. She is the mother after all.
“Want daddy …”
Ryu was placed in Jin’s right lap instantly. He didn’t make any more complain as he hugged his father. “Daddy, sowwie …”
Jin smiled, and patted his son lovingly on the head, whispering out that it’s alright.
13. Instinct
For one of KAT-TUN’s latest photo shoot, the theme was about men’s fashion so Kazuya was required to dress up like a man. She didn’t mind at all. Kazuya dons a short black wig, a long sleeve unbuttoned black jacket with a sleeveless top inside, and ripped jeans with belt. She wore guy necklaces and bracelets to complete her look. Her makeup was given a guy-touch.
“Wow, seriously … you look just like the old you!” Koki burst out yet once again.
“Shut up …” Kazuya said, clearly embarrassed.
“Yeah, that makes me wonder … where has your wife gone, Jin?” Junno teased, this time causing a smack from the woman herself. “Hey, Kazuya … that hurts!”
“Serves you right.” Kazuya crossed her arms, remembering well how to act manly.
“KAZUYA!” Nakamaru joined in the fun as well. “You’re really back!”
“Nakamaru!!!”
Jin could only smile as he watches Kazuya chase for the oldest member of KAT-TUN. His eyes widened in surprise when he sees Yamapi carrying Ryu into the studio. Jin shook his head in disbelief when Junno and Koki made a bet, whether Ryu will recognise his mother or not despite the vast difference.
“That Nakamaru …” Kazuya muttered as she clings onto Jin’s right arm, her mouth gaped open slightly when she realised Yamapi and Ryu’s presence. “Ah …”
Ryu blinked as he looked at Kazuya, Koki was real close to celebrating his win when Ryu spoke …
“Mommy cut hair?”
Koki cursed silently while Junno flashed his trademark cheerful smile.
Jin smirked.
“Eh?” Kazuya reached for her hair, “Oh no, it’s not mommy’s real hair. Fake hair, Ryu.”
“Fake hair? Mommy hair still long?” Ryu asked.
“That’s right.” Kazuya ruffled her baby’s hair. Ryu immediately reached for her, taking advantage of that action of hers. Jin caressed Ryu’s cheeks lovingly. “Why isn’t Ryu in the dressing room, hmm?”
“Lonely … want daddy and mommy …”
“Then you know what to do when you’re here, right?” Jin asked his son.
“Hnnn!!!” Ryu nodded his head.
14. Apples
“Mommy, what is that?” Ryu pointed towards a red fruit on display, the colour and shiny texture intrigued him. He watched with interest when Kazuya took one and handed it to him.
“It’s an apple, Ryu. Red apple. It’s one of the many fruits you can find.”
“Apple?” Ryu repeated the word. He stared at the apple for a moment before picking it up to his nose and smells it, his lips formed into a smile as he twirled the apple. “Mommy, buy apple?” Ryu asked his mother with wide eyes.
“Sure, sweety. We’ll take a few, alright?” Kazuya grabbed a plastic and placed four apples in them, asking Ryu to put the one he is holding inside as well. Once that was done, Kazuya situated the plastic of apples into the trolley. Ryu had a joyful smile from within his seat.
“Now …” Kazuya’s hands on her waist, “…where is your daddy?”
“I’m right behind you.”
Kazuya literally jumped as she turned to face that cheeky husband of hers, hitting him lightly on the chest.
“JIN! You scared me, okay!”
“Sorry, honey.” Jin grinned, planting a kiss on Kazuya’s lips as an apology.
“Daddy!” Ryu exclaimed in happiness seeing his father. “Mommy and Ryu took red apples!!!”
“Apples? Why didn’t you choose pears?” Jin had an innocent expression on his face, earning himself a pinch on the waist by Kazuya. “Kazu!”
“Seriously Jin, stop with that old joke …”
“But it’s my favourite all time joke, sweetheart …”
Kazuya flashed Jin a dangerous glare. Jin gulped, knowing he had to stop else he’ll be punished.
“Daddy, what is a pear?” Ryu asked out of the blue.
Turle-pear (Kame-nashi).
16. RYU
The two year old boy looked at his name sewn on his favourite blanket as his fingers traced the three letter word with a smile.
“RYU’.
Ryu’s smile grew wider when his parents joined him on the sofa.
“Ryu love love mommy daddy!!!” Ryu lunged towards his parents.
Kazuya and Jin chuckled, accepting Ryu into their warm embrace as they replied the words Ryu always love to hear the most, “We love you too, Ryu.”
16. Hygiene
“Mommy, Ryu want play!!!” The toddler announced the second he had finished his dinner.
“Sure, but first what must Ryu do?” Kazuya placed her hand on her hips, her expression turned into a frown when Jin got close to Ryu, whispering something to his boy’s ear.
“Kiss Mommy!!!” Ryu giggled.
Kazuya’s mouth gaped open, shifting her attention to her husband. “Jin …” She mouthed out accusingly.
“What? I didn’t even say anything, Kazu.” Jin innocently said.
“Well, is that so?”
Kazuya went ahead and lifted Ryu up from his toddler chair, heading in the direction of the sink. “First, Ryu has to wash your hands properly …” Kazuya placed Ryu’s small hands underneath the tap, and helped him wash his hands as well as cleaned his mouth. She closed the tap once they were done.
Kazuya then glanced at Ryu and smiled, “Now Ryu can kiss mommy, only Ryu …”
Once Ryu had kissed his mother on her cheeks, he skipped happily to the living room, where all his toys currently reside. Jin turned to Kazuya with a hopeful expression. He blinked his eyes, thinking that Kazuya would understand. Only to be met with a puzzled Kazuya.
“I want a kiss too.” Jin finally admitted.
“I told you, only Ryu’s allowed to kiss me.”
“But … that’s not fair. Kazuuuuuuu ………..” Jin pouted and crossed his arms like a baby.
Kazuya rolled her eyes and continued ignoring Jin though she could not prevent a smile from appearing on her face at Jin’s childish behaviour.
17. Doted
It was a mistake to enter a Disney store because Ryu was running around the store in circles. His eyes went wide over all the famous Disney characters’ merchandises that were displayed. Soon Ryu was pointing to this and that, pleading for his parents to buy the items for him.
“Mommy, Ryu want this!!!!” He pointed towards a set of Mickey Mouse kitchenware. “Want plate, cup, bowl … this, this and this … Ah! Mickey, Minnie! So cute!” Ryu showed his parents a lunch box that has Mickey and Minnie on it.
“$4 for a plastic plate like this?” Kazuya gasped when she looked at the price. “Jin …”
“Hmm?” Jin took the plate in his hand. “Well, it’s expected. It’s Disney after all …”
“But still …”
“Your branded items are expensive too, Kazu, yet you still buy them. Why?”
“That … that’s different.”
Jin raised his eyebrows, “Different? How … different, Kazu? Can you explain?”
“It’s …”
“Mommy, can we please buy Mickey’s plushie?” Ryu interrupted Kazuya, tugging on her blouse as he showed her the newfound plushie. “Ryu also want other stuff too. Can, mommy?”
Kazuya sighed, “Just five items, okay?”
“Ten?” Ryu showed all of his fingers, and flashed one cute irresistible smile to his parents.
18. Mischievous
“Ryu!”
Ryu ran away from his mother’s grasp, throwing away the towel that was wrapped around his body on the floor. He climbed up on his parents’ bed, naked. Ryu grinned and positioned himself next to his father who was still deep in sleep, oblivious to his surroundings.
Ryu held out his hand and reached for Jin’s collarbone. When Kazuya realised what Ryu’s intention was, it was already too late. She took a step back as she prepared herself of what was to come. The bedroom soon was filled with Jin’s loud shriek. Even in his sleep, he could feel that someone had touched his most sensitive part of his body.
Jin almost sent a glare to Kazuya’s direction when she shook her head and pointed to the boy beside him who was currently laughing away, having enjoyed the show earlier.
“Ryu, you little …”
Ryu was unable to run away from Jin, erupting into a wild laughter when Jin tickled him.
“Daddy, haha … no, daddy …”
19. Pancake
“Cute! So many shapes!!!” Ryu beamed in absolute delight, looking down at his plate, unlike his parents’, Ryu’s pancakes were cut into smaller and different types of shapes. “Got star, heart … hmm, circle-circle …”
“Ryu love it?” Kazuya asked.
“Hnn!!” Ryu nodded his head, munching on his pancakes.
“Your pancakes are the best in the whole wide world …” Jin whispered heavenly with his mouth full.
20.Sing
“Ryu want sing tooooo!!!!”
All of KAT-TUN members turned down to look at the younger boy, suddenly realising his presence. Ryu had been in the dressing room all the while. The members, even the parents of Ryu, had gotten distracted, having had singing competition amongst them.
“Sure!” Koki replied with a kind smile, ushering Ryu to the centre. “Akanishi Ryu, everyone!”
KAT-TUN clapped their hands, causing Ryu to smile shyly at the attention he was getting. Nevertheless he was hyped up because of all the support.
“What do Ryu want to sing?” Junno asked.
“Yeah, do you have any song in mind?” Nakamaru added.
“Hmm …” Ryu thought for a moment, his expression lights up when he decided on a song. “Ah, Ryu know! Barney’s song!!! Mommy always sings it to Ryu!”
“Go on, Ryu! Sing it … Daddy want to hear Ryu’s sweet voice!” Jin encouraged his son while Kazuya nodded her head and flashed her baby a smile.
“I love you, you love me … we’re a happy family and with a great big hug …”
Kazuya and Jin hugged their son, T-TUN following their actions.
“…and a kiss from me to you …”
Ryu kissed his parents, “Won’t you say you love me too …”
“Mommy love you.”
“Daddy love you too.”
Ryu smiled and hugged his parents again, “RYU LOVE DADDY AND MOMMY! LOTS, AND LOTS!”
