There's a chaffinch which has taking to parading up and down my window sill, tapping it with its beak, then launching itself back slightly, flying into the window beak first and then repeating. Aw, it prolly just wants some breadcrumbs or something. You can't seriously be scared of a chaffinch. I saw a kestrel (or it might have been a merlin; great ornithologist I am not) in my back garden when I was home the other week. It was cool.
