*Alice broke.
It was only a matter of time, after all. Mayfield had kept her a captive for over a year... it would be a year and a half next month. Perhaps it was her own mistake. After awhile she had let herself open up to people. She had gained a few close friends, not to mention a boyfriend. If you would have told Alice a year and a half ago that she was dating someone she would probably laugh.
First, Shiki told her of his small lifespan which hurt her. Ten years still isn't much time considering how long she has been alive herself. She hated the idea of dying herself so it was only natural that she hated the idea of someone close to her dying.
Then she had let herself grow close to Lancer. Her servant. He had proven himself loyal and won her complete admiration for facing something she feared forever head on without hesitation. Meeting someone just like Lancer was perhaps what Alice needed the most. And then, of course, he left her.
And Alice decided that if this was what was going to happen if she got closer to others she had no interest in keeping herself close to them. Yes, she would continue to make friends. But she would choose to keep her personal information more private next time. It's the only thing she could do to protect herself from breaking down again.
Two days after her breakdown she's recovered enough to at least use the phone.*

For those of you who knew him Lancer is gone. I will not discuss the matter of his departure any further than that. If you ask I will simply ignore you.

I need certain materials. I will list them off one by one. If any of you have them bring them to 507 Ricardo Street. I will repay you for your contribution.

People with magical know how and people from Gensokyo may be able to recognize the list as a list of items to turn a magically inclined human into a youkai. To most, however, the list will sound not only mundane but impossible to actually obtain here in Mayfield.*
