[Guess who shows up about fifteen minutes later with a giant smile on her face. Marisa's so excited, she doesn't even notice the bobble in Alice's hand as she hops the porch wall from the side (since when does she ever enter places normally) and draped herself over Alice's back.]

Guess what! Guess what! Guess what!

*Alice tries to shove Marisa off. Her success is minimal.*

*Alice doesn't smile but still, in her own way, she seems happy for Marisa. The only hint of this is that her voice becomes a bit kinder.*

[He wasn't always the most perceptive person when it came to things like this, so whatever problems Alice had clearly flew miles over his head.]

That is correct.

*She straightens her dress out as she stands up. It's a nervous habit, although it's still rather subtle.*

... I apologize for Shiki. Ah, though, you haven't gotten into too much trouble, right?

I don't get into trouble--well, at least not more than I can handle.

Either way, something I can do for you?

Shiki told me I should be honest so... I want to be friends. I also want you to be able to rely on me.
