Remembering Cody

I'm Tony Carmichael and I played guitar in the rock band that was called "Cody Palance and the Mojave Green" and it was 10 years ago today that I put my guitar in its case and didn't pick it up again for 3 years. That was because my buddy Cody was no longer with us and playing with someone else was going to be a drag so we hung it up for a while. Along with my big brother Jim who played drums in the group, I spent pretty much all of 1997 and 1998 [up until May] at Cody and Jack's ranch. We rehearsed in the barn. We had so many laughs in there. See Cody dug Jim and I because we didn't give a shit about being in movies or using him to pass a script to his old man. We were up there to drink and jam and produce a product we could be proud of. The original songs we were writing were kick ass tunes. I still know 'em and can still play 'em and people love 'em. Cody was just recording his blues CD when I met him so at first when we played out we did those songs but much heavier. That's why we decided the next project was going to be a 70's

Tony, thank you for your thoughtful memories. Cody was indeed a wonderful, and talented man. It's a shame fate played out so sadly, but we do have our memories. ~ I'm still in Tehachapi, only a bit higher up in Bear Valley Springs now. Feel free to call me c/o Home Windpower should you be inclined.
