Thank you, Olga. And not only do I appreciate his spirit, but his cleverness as well. When I first wrote this column, adding details like how he picked the canyon he hung at because it had a seasonal stream, grass and all he needed, plus how his ears would be observed sticking up from behind bushes by others as he watched Mary Ann on her feeding trips, the story was originally twice the length it is now. But, of course, as much as the editor loved the story, and additional pics, she had to have me edit it down because of space limitations.
