Well, the whole nation seems to be having some cold storms. And, being just over 6200 feet up in Southern California, it meant my house has been getting a decent serving of snow.
Hello, precious lady. It's always a pleasure to hear from you. The hot cocoa is certainly do-able now. But for about 22 hours we had to do without electricity because heavy snow on a pine tree branch and wind caused the "neutral" on the power line to my home to break, causing me to be surrounded by popping sounds as light bulbs blew, smoke oozed out from two shut off computers and a TV.
Luckily, an investment in mucho power surge protection power strips resulted in them sacrificing their life for most my electronics. An expensive way, still, to lead into a night of fireplace and candles alone with my pets.
And so it goes, the adventures of living where one prefers.
As always, my best wishes are very much with you and your loved ones. :-)
Looks a little like our place right now. Only with a better view and a hot tub. I wish... Seriously, though. If it's going to be like this all winter I might have to suspend my gym membership for a couple months so I can hunker down as much as possible. It's ridiculous with all these hills and bluffs.
