3 years later…

“You guys better get your asses to this god damn photo shoot on time or so help me god I will personally murder you all!”

The members of Alice Nine shuddered at the voice message that their manager had sent to them all. Glancing around at each other they looked at the time and realized there was no way in hell they would make it. They all ran to Shou’s car and decided to simply try to make it as quickly as possible. They were at least half an hour away and the shoot was supposed to be in 15 minutes. Knowing that they had approximately a 15 minute grace period they realized they might just barely make it there on time but they would still have to sit through make up after that. They decided to try to make it there quickly.

She was pacing back and forth looking at her watch, and cursing fluently in English as the time ticked on and there was still no sign of the band. She was about ten minutes from having to reschedule when all of the sudden the doors burst open and the five men scrambled through. She didn’t allow them to stop, merely gestured to the back and growled out “dressing room… NOW” They followed her instruction and ran as fast as possible. Knowing that they would be ready in time she went to speak to the photographer finally. She bowed to the man who simply gave her a half nod, while still paying more attention to the lighting.
“Ah~ they just arrived so they should be ready in 15 minutes, if you could please allow them that extra five…”
“Meh… ok~”

She simply shook her head, glad that the man was such a relaxed person. It didn’t stop her from being angry that the men were so late but she was willing to overlook it slightly after she had berated them a little more. She waited impatiently for the men to come out ready for the shoot. They were done in record time and the five men came out breathing hard but ready for the shoot. She gave them the silent treatment for the entire hour and a half shoot, which only increased their anxiety and caused them to be almost perfect. The photographer laughed as he watched them finally go get changed and stopped her from following.
“May I have a word manager-san?”
“You may but it depends on the content as to whether I will give an answer which you may or may not appreciate…”
“…. Hahahahaha! Just do me a favor and always scare the living daylights out of them before we work together.”
“… I only do what is necessary to keep them to schedule.”

He laughed again and she simply gave a silent smile. She could see the men standing off to the side waiting for her, so she simply bowed away from the man and walked over, the mischievous smile still on her face. They swallowed visibly and followed when she walked past without even a glance in their direction. From behind them she heard a hearty chuckle as the five men followed her out; looking much like sad puppies she was sure. She made her way to her car and motioned for the men to follow her. They followed behind closely, feeling the weight of her anger as they followed her to her flat. They made their way up and all entered the flat in silence. They could hear her rummaging in the kitchen so they meekly made their way into the living room and sat silently on the couch. Her two cats milled around their feet and her dog lay in the corner watching them closely. He raised his head after a few minutes and trotted over to sit at Saga’s feet.  Absentmindedly he reached down and scratched the animal’s ears.

She watched the men sit silently in the room. They obviously felt bad and they could tell she was angry but she wanted to know if they understood the reason. She finally stopped what she was doing and brought out a tray of drinks and sat it on the small table. With that done she simply stood there and crossed her arms over her chest.
“Well… what do you have to say for yourselves?”
She was met by silence which merely made her frown deeper, which finally got the men to react. Shou raised his hands in defeat but it was Tora who spoke.
“Mah, mah~ Ali-chan… we know we messed up! Can’t you give us a break?! It was stupid for us to go out knowing full well we were working with Ren today… so just… forgive us this once ne?”

She sighed and looked at the men all in turn. They genuinely felt bad about the situation which made her happy. She sighed and picked up her black cat who was currently mewling up at her. Scratching his head calmly she gave the men one last exasperated look before shaking her head. They would learn one of these days, but until then she would be there to scare the daylights out of them when they were out of line. Smiling slightly she made her way over to the couch which was currently only occupied by Saga, seeing as Shou and Hiroto were huddled together on the sectional and Nao and Tora were each in one of the arm chairs. She settled herself on the couch and let her cat rest happily in her lap.

Sensing the calm they knew that their punishment was over and soon the tension had almost completely left the room. Saga was still sitting awkwardly in the corner of the couch scratching the dog’s ears which only earned him a whine from him, and a paw on his knee. The husky knew when something was amiss and hated the tension. The others waited to see how long the silence would last before one of the broke. After about five minutes Saga reached slowly across the divide of the couch and set his hand on hers. He felt her hand still, and he waited for one of two responses. A few seconds later he felt her fingers gently brush his which caused his face to light up as he quickly closed the gap and managed to pull her into his lap all at the same time. She buried her flushed face against his neck as he chuckled and apologized all at the same time.
“Babe~ I’m really sorry for being such an idiot… Can you forgive me? …Or do I have to sleep on the couch?”

No one laughed at his question, knowing full well the extent of the young woman’s anger and how it could affect them. Generally if Saga was forced to sleep on the couch one night he would ultimately come into rehearsal the next day depressed and worried about talking to their manager the next day. Which ultimately led to long rehearsals and low spirits; glancing slyly at the young woman they waited for an answer.
“’m not gonna banish you to the couch… Ya’ll all got the message already so why bother punishing you more than is necessary. Just promise me something.”
“… what?”
“Don’t be such an idiot and at least call when you aren’t coming back so that I don’t stay up until 3 in the morning worrying…”

She knew her voice cracked slightly when the man’s arms tightened around her and he murmured apologies to her. She buried her nose against his neck and tried to make as little noise as possible. The others got up silently and waved a quick farewell to the bassist who was gently soothing the young woman. She had been a nervous wreck all day, and finally it was all too much. She heard the door shut behind the others and simply wrapped her arms around the man’s shoulders. She sniffled quietly as he held her close and whispered gentle nonsense to her. After a few minute she pulled away and tried to speak.
“B-baka… w-hat about y-your promise to always be here? A-are you bored…”

He cut her words off by stealing them off her lips. The kiss was gentle and sweet and said everything he was too embarrassed to say out loud. She relaxed into his hold and simply relaxed against him, nuzzling into his neck. Saga could tell she was exhausted so he stood up from the couch, and carried her princess style to their bedroom and gently laid her on the bed. She curled up and he got on the other side. She soon was curled up at his side and before long the two had both fallen asleep. It was hard to believe that a few years ago the girl wouldn’t go near these men and now she was as close as one could get with them. They were her family. Saga was woken up a few hours later by his phone buzzing on the nightstand. He reached carefully over and read the message from his friends. It was asking if their plans were still in place and he responded affirmatively. After sending it he felt a shift and looked down to find Ali staring up at him sleepily.
“’s the matter?”
“Surprise… you gotta go get ready for an evening out though~”

She groaned in response and closed her eyes again. After a few minutes she rolled over and slipped off the bed, making her way wearily towards the bathroom. Saga heard the water running and simply shook his head. He was glad she was willing to put up with the general craziness that was related with his band and smiled for the umpteenth time about how lucky he was. Making a few discrete phone calls to assure that everything was ready, he went into the bathroom to also shower. All that was heard through the apartment was the sound of running water, a short scream that was followed by complaining and laughter. 30 minutes later they both came out wrapped in towels. Ali glared at Saga from the safety of her closet.
“How many times do I have to tell you not to do that?”
“hahaha… as many as it takes I suppose?”

She growled a response and went through her closet. She picked out a tight red dress that hugged her curves but flared at the bottom. It showed off enough skin to be sexy, but not enough to be trashy. Stepping out of the closet she smiled to see that Saga was wearing a black suit with a crimson vest. She chuckled and made her way over to the vanity where she put on a few key pieces of jewelry and her perfume. Once ready she turned to find Saga right behind her. Bumping into the vanity she cursed him again for sneaking up on her like in the bathroom. His response was simply to chuckle and kiss her before taking her hand and leading her towards the door. She followed the man in silence, wondering what sort of surprise was planned. They made their way to a small, but classy bar she recognized. As soon as they arrived at “Aqua Blue” she felt like there was something significant about this evening but she couldn’t put her finger on it.

They walked inside and the atmosphere was the same as it had been 3 years ago the first time she had come with the band, but something was off. He led her to the back room, barely mentioning something about ‘reservations’ but not elaborating. As they reached the door she felt his hand grasp hers a little more tightly before pulling her forward and making her face the door. He covered her eyes childishly and told her to open the door. Sighing at his strange behavior she did as instructed and felt him guide her into the room. The door was shut behind them but she couldn’t tell anything more about the room. Finally he removed his hand and she was shocked to find all of their closest friends gathered in the room. She looked around, thoroughly confused before her gaze fell on her brother and his group. She walked a few steps forward before crossing her arms across her chest and looking around.

Everyone thought she was beautiful, but also found it adorable that she couldn’t figure out what was going on herself. Gackt grinned broadly at her, which only made her anxiety rise, and the silence was enough to drive her crazy. Sighing exasperatedly she turned to face Saga only to get the shock of her life. She stumbled back a few feet, her hands covering a gasp as she took in the sight before her. The bassist was currently down on one knee, leaning slightly forward on his forearms with a box in one hand. He was looking at her with a look that screamed volumes but she couldn’t quite fathom it all. Knowing that he finally had her attention he grinned slightly, only making the image even more natural for him.
“Babe~ I have been by your side for three years now… And it made me realize something. I only need a few things in my life: my family and my friends… Since I want you to fall under the first category… Will you marry me?”

The room was silent as they waited for her answer. She realized now that this must be part of the reason that the idiots were out so late the night before. She couldn’t seem to form words so she looked at the man who was currently gazing at her, searching for some little sign and barely nodded her head. The response from the entire room was instantaneous as she was immediately swept off her feet and into his arms. He kissed her thoroughly, only to receives jeers about “don’t forget the ring you idiot~” Smiling foolishly he set her down and took her hand. She watched mesmerized as he slid a gorgeous ring on her finger. The band and setting were silver and the main stone was a black diamond set in a butterfly with small aquamarines surrounding it as accents. She looked first at it, and back at the man before looking down at their intertwined hands once more. She shook her head silently before smiling up at him.
“Baka~ aishiteiru.”
“Wakatta darling~”

Soon she was swept away by their friends to receive their congratulations, as well as an endless amount of teasing. The president watched from a corner with a small grin. He was slightly surprised when the young man had come to him a little over a year ago, but had told the kid to give him time to think. Impressed with not only their professionalism but also his perseverance he finally agreed, having no reason to say no. Smiling at the result he was glad he made the right decision.

She was forced around the room to greet so many people. She stopped to speak with Gackt and his crew for several minutes, after greeting several of Alice Nine’s kohais as well as the president. She stopped and leaned against Gackt who merely threw an arm around her shoulders and grinned at his members.
“Seems my little sister finally got wise~ Though it will be sad to see you officially off the market.”

She chuckled gleefully but still managed to punch the man playfully on the shoulder. He smiled and dragged her over to where several of the friends she had met in the idol industry where waiting their turn. She greeted them all pleasantly and received their warm wishes. All in all it was an exhausting evening, and after only an hour she was ready to find Saga. She made her way through the crowd, acknowledging and thanking people when they called to her but she was focused. She finally broke free of the crowd and found the man waiting with his band members. She waltzed up to him and snuggled into his side. The others merely smiled and harassed Saga for his behavior. Ali stuck her tongue out at them but remained glued to his side. She was tired but felt relaxed when she was beside the man. She had to snap out of her reverie when she realized that he was asking her a question. Blushing she glanced up at him in an effort to get it repeated.
“Hahaha~ Pay attention will yah~ I was asking about you… and your family? What do you want to do?”

She stopped and bit her lip as she thought about the situation. Finally she smiled up at the man she had fallen in love with.
“If you can and want to, I would love for you to meet them. We’d have to travel to Europe…”
“PRESIDENT-SAN!!!! Can we have a short break to go on vacation and all visit her family?!”

She let out an exasperated sigh as the man screamed across the room to their president who had carefully hidden himself from view. The man showed his displeasure in his face at being drawn from the shadows but couldn’t bring himself to be all that angry when the five men were currently grinning like fools in his direction. He pulled out his phone to check their schedule but Ali interrupted him.
“They have the next two weeks free of everything but rehearsal… If perhaps we could reschedule rehearsals during that week we could make a quick 5 day trip next week. We can still have the rehearsals as long as I can contact the studios around where we will be by tomorrow…”
“This is why you are their manager… Do it then… Use the company card for everything… Don’t argue; think of it as a gift…. But I expect full reports on rehearsals, vacation or not.”

She couldn’t keep the smile off her face as the five men crowed cheerfully. She inclined her head towards the older man and let her fiancée drag her off. The rest of the evening was spent making phone calls to her acquaintances overseas, as well as trying not to strangle Saga as he ran around their apartment. She finally managed to make all the plans concrete and went out to the living room only to find all the band members curled up in various states of sleep. She couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight. Looking around the room she felt overwhelmed with love for the idiotic group of men. The next morning she was the grumpy one but everything went smoothly. They arrived at the airport early and as they got everyone checked in she felt Saga come up behind her and slip his hand into hers. Without saying a word they walked onto the plane together with the others. As they waited for the flight to begin she looked around at the others. Seeing everyone smiling and happy she realized that in just a few years these five had become her happiness, and it would remain that way.
