So I survived exam period. Got my results a few weeks ago - I got a 2.1 overall and a first in forensics (83% woop!). The university'll be e-mailing me a breakdown of all my results in a few weeks, so I'll know more then. I'm crazy excited about starting next year now - particularly considering that during my first week of lectures I was convinced ( Read more... )

Congrats on the exam results!

I don't really do chip butties, nor pints and I call myself a Northerner! ;) I didn't have a pasty barm until I was like 22 and someone at work couldn't believe it, so I was sort of coerced into trying one!

I would love to live in a place not overrun with scallies, or chavs as you like to call them! That would be absolute heaven for me!

That said, I was always considered a little weird at Primark and only met one other person in my time working there who liked musical theatre, the OC, travelling to places (other than Benidorm to eat English food and want to come home to the joys of Bolton, direct quote!!) The number of times I got asked what's the cornerhouse or arthouse cinema was unbelievable!

So, yeah, I guess I'm an unemployed Northern snob with a common accent! I *almost* die every time I hear anyone say 'ta luv' or 'ta c*ck'. Cringes!

You actually called it a barm...I love that! People often ask us for them at work and it always ends in one of us saying 'it's a goddamn ROLL!'

Umm, yeah...

CONGRATULATIONS on the results! I am super-proud of you! You're amazing!

But it isn't exactly the same as a roll... not in the North West anyway! ;) I love a bacon buttie though, ah haven't had bacon in ages, it's perfect after a night on the razz! It's always a pasty barm in Bolton and then there's a wigan kebab, which personally i've never tried and NEVER want to. (It's three pies on a stick, no great surprise that Wigan has the highest rate of obesity around here.) I actually have to brave Bolton town centre tomorrow to return a library book, hopefully I'll not get run over by an electric scooter.

I like chip butties! Only occasionally though...
