Help!

Ok, I don't really have parents for this kind of thing so I'm enlisting the assistance of my flist:

What the HECK should I wear to my graduation? It's less than 2 weeks away and I'm majorly panicking.

Any and all suggestions are most welcome!

graduation, university, rl

If the weather stays warm, you're going to want to wear something light because you'll get hot under the gown. I wore a shirt with black trousers and I was warm. Perhaps a dress?

I remember we were advised to wear something like a shirt because the hood that hangs around your neck - I think it needed something like a button to hook on to. I'm not sure if that's still the case but you might want to bear that in mind.

I think it's going to be warm.

I read about needing something with buttons too - I'm reluctant to wear a shirt though because the funbags don't cooperate, and I have to go up several sizes and it makes me cry tears of blood and woe. I also read that hooking the hood onto the buttons makes it ride up (backed up by what Fi said).

I have a dress from All Saints I may wear with a white t-shirt underneath and safety pin my hood to that? Eh. I'm about 2ft tall anyways so it's not like anyone's going to see what I'm wearing.

Thank you!

Do you not have a list of rules? Ours was very strict about what you could and couldn't wear.

Michelle's right - your robe hook thing usually needs to hook on to a button, so it might be good to wear a shirt. Maybe if it's warm a white shirt and black skirt?

We don't have any rules, just smart dress and sombre colours to show off the horrendous red and blue of the hood.

Shirts and I don't get on (as explained to Michelle above). I'm thinking dress, and many safety pins.

I love your icon by the way! In The Loop is an awesome film.

We had rules too. I'm pretty sure we had to wear white and black only. I wore a satin white shirt which wouldn't stay in place because of the button for the hood, it was very annoying. I wore it with a black skirt.

My sister wore a black dress and had to run to the shops for a safety pin to pin the hood to the dress.

We don't have many rules, just dark colours and smart dress. I'm thinking I may just wear a black dress with a white top underneath and safety pin the hood to death so it doesn't fall off and my top doesn't ride up.

Thanks!

I think a black dress is a good way to go. Friends of mine have grad pics up on Facebook and most them seem to be wearing black dresses or black skirts with white shirts. I HATE shirts, I beg you not to wear one! :)
