The more news I come across, the more statistics I see - we are fucked. We've poisoned the planet past tipping point and no one anywhere in power seems willing or able to make the drastic changes we need to cut our losses and stop fucking it up any worse.

I'm still stuck at 50/50, sometimes I think I should hole up in the Falklands with 5000 tins of beans, 200 sheep and a gun. And sometimes I, possibly naively, think that if we can build the LHC, fight global disease and get to the moon, we must be able to dig ourselves out of our grave.
