Nice work, America. I am so relieved, so pleased, so hopeful. For once the idiotic knee-jerk rightwing scaremongering got thrown out the window. The people are not fooled, not intimidated - they are smart, calm, and reclaiming the American dream and wrestling control back where it belongs: with we, the people.

We stayed up pretty damn late watching it but I had to go to bed because of needing to be in town for 10 this morning. But the buzz was brilliant, and it was really good when I woke up and Robin told me Obama had won.
I saw an interview with John McCain the day before (the first time I'd really listened to candidates' speeches) and the man scared me slightly with the implications of his pledges. So yey Obama.
