So as part of my new hippie commie Portland identity, I switched to biofuel for my heat. They told me that after a few weeks, I should call someone to clean the filter on my furnace, as biofuel has an initial gunky stage as it runs through the works.

Fine. There's a sticker with the name and number of a service company on the front of the furnace,

I feel so guilty and part of What's Wrong With America for being so excited when the stove I have now is practically brand-new, but yeah: I haaaaaaaaaate the electric.

I'm getting excited. I am nervous, because more and more, I'm worrying that it was kind of crazy to pay the money for this trip just now. Hey, you might want to check the library for Consumer Reports issues on appliances- I always look at their reviews before buying appliances and they haven't steered us wrong yet.

I hate electric ovens. I'm all about gas for both.

Really? I thought electric was supposed to be better for baking--more even, etc.

We were looking at dual fuel and ended up going with gas for both because it was a little cheaper. So far, no regrets.

Yeah, I think I'm leaning toward gas, for the same reason. I was definitely thinking, "I gotta ask Ramen what she wound up deciding!"
